Winners Quit

I am sure you have heard it said: Winners never quit and quitters never win.  We hear pithy one liners and somehow they creep their way into the fabric with which we clothe our worlds.  It all sounds so good.  Well of COURSE that must be true…

But here’s the truth.  Winners quit.  ALL the time.  They simply know how, when and where TO & where NOT to “quit” in order to win more in the end for everyone involved.

Too many times we try to bring yesterday’s strategies into tomorrow’s vision because we just can’t “quit” them or give them up.

Seasons remind us with their falling leaves and golden sunsets, change really is constant.  Knowing how to embrace an end today may just wind up defining a new dawn for tomorrow.

So what about you kind friend, are there some strategies, some good things that were wonderful in your old season but you might need to “quit” on in order to fully embrace the vision of your new season?

  1. amen, new season brings new rules!!

  2. It sure does, Wim. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Wow! That’s a nugget of truth worth exploring and applying. Very powerful.

  4. this is something I can definitely relate to as far as “quitting” with some things while embracing a new season. It’s a lot harder than it sounds but God always has a plan and a reason! Thanks for sharing. Also…I passed on what you wrote for my class about entering the mission field today. We were all very blessed so thanks again :)

  5. I’m behind on reading your posts. This one is so good. It is so often said that the only real “spiritual” option is to hang on in there forever when actually God is saying “you are free to move on now”. I have recently experienced this myself and it was a very liberating moment. Thank you Michele. I love reading your blog (s) and posts. Keep them coming. Bless you and all your children and all your co-workers Liz xx

  6. Three times the Lord has instructed me to quit when it was so ingrained in me that it was my responsibility. Yet God saw that I was taking on too much and it was time to step out of these emotionally charged situations. It was freeing but took some time to really let go.
